I was recently approached by a client in Manchester who was having a new website designed. They were looking for a professional commercial photographer to capture some internal and external shots of their office building on Fountain Street in Manchester.
The client is a well-established and highly-renowned law firm, and they’ve been based in Manchester city centre for many years. However, their old website didn’t reflect this: it used stock imagery, and there was nothing to suggest (visually) that the client occupies a modern office building on Manchester’s sought-after Fountain Street.

We felt that the key thing that the commercial photography needed to achieve was to lend trust and realism to the new website. We wanted the law firm’s clients to know that they had an accessible office space where the client could visit their solicitor in person, rather than just speaking to them over the phone. We also wanted to show the ‘human face’ of the client rather than it being hidden behind stock imagery.
If you’re considering designing a website for your company, I would always recommend getting a commercial photographer involved, and steering away from stock imagery. Customers today look for authenticity and transparency in the people they want to work with or hire, and nothing captures this better than office shots. Commercial photography can really elevate your website, adding trust and authenticity in a way that stock photography just can’t. Let’s take a closer look…
How office photography adds trust and realism to your website
1. Builds Trust
Trust is the cornerstone of any successful business relationship. By displaying your office environment, you’re offering transparency and authenticity. Potential clients can see that you’re a legitimate business with a physical presence, which instils confidence in your professionalism and reliability. This was especially important for my solicitor client in Manchester.
2. Sets Realistic Expectations
Clients want to know what to expect when working with you. By showcasing your office space, you’re setting realistic expectations about the working environment and the experience they can anticipate.

3. Enhances Brand Identity
Your office space is an extension of your brand identity. Whether it’s a sleek modern office, a cosy studio, or a bustling creative hub, your workspace reflects your brand values and personality. Incorporating office shots into your website allows you to convey your brand identity visually, helping you stand out in a competitive market. In the case of my solicitor client in Manchester, we wanted to illustrate that the firm occupies a premium office space in one of Manchester’s most-sought after business locations. This type of commercial photography increases gravitas and trust.
4. Humanises Your Brand
Incorporating office shots humanises your brand by providing a glimpse into your workspace and team dynamics. It’s an opportunity to showcase the faces behind the lens and the environment in which their skills thrive. Clients feel more connected to your brand when they see the people and the workspace behind the scenes.
