What is Public Relations photography?

In a competitive field, PR professionals are always looking for ways to give their story an edge and help it stand out from the crowd. This is where Public Relations photography can really help.

Of course, a strong story or press release is always key, but even the best story can’t compete with a photograph’s ability to instantly provoke an emotion or reaction. Journalists and editors are just as susceptible to the power of images as readers, and a great PR photograph could be the thing that gets your story noticed (and even onto the front page!)

Why should you use a professional PR photographer?

A great PR photograph is more than just an accompanying picture: it should tell a story.

When it comes to Public Relations, we all know how vital it is to catch the reader’s eye, and that’s why It’s vital to include the right image. PR photography should increase curiosity while setting expectations about the tone and subject, but it also shouldn’t give too much away: you want people to carry on reading!

A professional public relations photographer will consider elements such as setting the scene: the image should emphasise your subject. A PR photographer will also understand that your photo should be dynamic and captivating: you only have a few seconds to hook people in.

A well-matched photograph can be the key to getting your writing published and can even help to get your story onto the front page.

And of course, in the age of social media, PR photography is now even more crucial. Images are key to getting noticed on the internet.

If you’re investing budget in PR photography for your business, it’s always advisable to hire a professional public relations photographer with experience in this type of work to ensure you get the best possible results.
